CeCe's Wool at Rhinebeck! Store closed Oct. 19-20
CeCe’s Wool is once again vending at the New York Sheep & Wool Festival. We will be setting up in Building 31, booth 9-10. It's the same building but a slightly different location from prior years. We are at the end of the building near the sheep barns and located against the wall. This building is located just down the road from Gate 9. As always, we’re planning to bring a few surprises along with us. And we give out free gifts to everyone who shows up with yarn they got from CeCe's Wool!
Our shop in Guilderland will be closed from October 19 and 20 while we are at Rhinebeck. We will be open again on Monday, October 21.
Our special Rhinebeck colorway this year is called Stained Glass and will be available in several bases, fingering, worsted and sock yarn. We have several samples to show you of how it knits up including the Embassy Row Vest by Stephanie Earp of Espace Tricot which can be found in their book, Knits from the Local Yarn Shop.
We also love how it looks in the Windowpane Cowl by Jill Ramos. We'll be doing a class at the shop with Jill in November on how to knit this gorgeous cow.
The Leaf Voter Suppression Behind colorway from LolaBean Yarn will be returning to Rhinebeck at CeCe’s Wool's booth. As voter suppression efforts continue to disenfranchise eligible voters, we will keep fighting back by raising funding for Fair Fight Action and Rock the Vote. $15 from each skein will be split between these two organizations. This is our second fundraising effort this fall and it's more important than ever that we support the important work they do to protect our democracy.
And we are giving out a pattern using bulky yarn to make That Basic Ribbed Beanie, which was generously provided by Jessica Antonio. (Also available here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/that-basi...)
Supplies will be limited, so don’t hesitate to make CeCe’s Wool the first stop on your visit at the festival. Online orders for Leaf Voter Suppression Behind will be going live at 12 Noon EST on Saturday, Oct. 19. That listing can be found here.
Other items we are bringing include roving and yarn from our Jacob sheep and luscious Merino/Rambouillet roving from American Ewe.
And we will have lots of wonderful tweed, DK and Bulky yarns from American Ewe!
And we just discovered how much fun it is to make cowls and hats with Doodle Decks! We'll have several doodle decks and kits for you to pick up.
And please help us support those hit by hurricanes this season. We are joining other yarn shops and fiber mills to create a shipment to Ashville, North Carolina to support makers who lost everything. We are collecting yarns, fabric, sewing and making supplies. Everything is welcome. We'll have a box in our booth for the collection and we'll get it to Ashville after the festival.
We hope to see you at Rhinebeck!
