This listing is for yarn from our Jacob sheep and a neighbors Cotswold sheep.

The yarn is a 2 ply, DK weight. We have mordanted some of the skeins in 10% alum with water so you can use them for dyeing with plants and flowers.

Each skein is 100 grams, 231 yardsm 2 ply DK weight.

Some plants that I have dyed with:

black eyed susan
queen anne's lace
jewel weed
tansy
coreopsis
marigold
dyer's chamomille

Dyeing with natural plants is a lot of fun and we have taken some of the work out of it by providing already mordanted yarn for you. Check out the video below to show you how I dyed one skein in a jar with coreopsis flowers - my favorite dye material.

The Jacob wool is a beautiful gray and the Cotswold is a yummy white. Both will create beautiful and unique natural dye yarns or just them in their natural colors.
