This affordable and portable rigid heddle loom is quick to assemble and easy to use. Everything is included in the kit to get you started.  The rigid heddle loom is a great introduction to hand weaving and also very versatile.  Each loom kit comes with a heddle block that allows for a second heddle for multi-shaft weaving.

Create beautiful and unique scarves, shawls, pillows, placemats, table runners and more.  Lots of information can be found on You Tube on how to warp and rigid heddle looms and to use different weaving techniques and colors to create unique designs.  See video resources below.

The looms are constructed from Silver Beech hardwood, a very strong and robust hardwood.  The looms require assembly and come unfinished.  They can be finished (preferably before assembly) with Ashford Finishing Wax.

Looms are available in 4 widths:

RH400 - Rigid Heddle Tabby Loom 40cm / 16" width

RH600 - Rigid Heddle Tabby Loom 60cm / 24" width

RH800 - Rigid Heddle Tabby Loom 80cm / 32" width

RH1200 - Rigid Heddle Tabby Loom 120cm / 48" width - This loom will take 10 days to ship and will be sent directly from Ashford.

A 7.5dpi (30/10cm) nylon is included with the loom kit.  Additional reeds, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 and 12.5 dpi (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50/10cm), are available which allowing you to weave with fine to bulky textured yarns.

Each kit includes:

  • nylon reed 7.5dpi (30/10cm)

  • heddle block 

  • instruction booklet

  • threading hook
  • warping peg and clamp
  • 2  shuttles
  • cardboard strips

All standard rigid heddle looms come with holes drilled in the bottom of the rails so you can use your loom as a warping frame for the indirect warping method.  (Pegs purchased separately).

    I ordered this loom via the website. The staff assembled and waxed the loom for me and I was ready to start weaving as soon as I returned home. Great loom, great customer service, highly recommend the shop.
